- Anthoons Willy (1911-1982)
Willy Anthoons is a Belgian sculptor and non-figurative painter. His work stands out for the simplicity and elegance of his forms.
In 1945, alongside Louis Van Lint and many others, Anthoons became a member of the recently established group La Jeune Peinture Belge, which endeavoured to promote young avant-garde artists through exhibitions, both in Belgium and abroad. After the dissolution of the group, Anthoons established himself in Paris where he died in 1982.
