- Bozzolini Silvano (1911-1998)
Silvano Bozzolini is an important figure of the European post-war abstraction. Inspired by early Tuscan painters, a similar spatial perception and clarity in his work can be observed from this cultural heritage. Bozzolini moved to Paris to attend l'Ecole des Beaux Arts in 1947.
In 1952, the artist co-founded the avant-garde Groupe Espace, an association of geometric abstract artists and architects. They published the journal “Art d’Aujourd’hui,” an influential voice of geometric abstraction and neo-plasticism.
His work is present in the permanent collection of numerous museums worldwide including the Centre Georges Pompidou in Paris and the Musée d’Art Moderne de la Ville de Paris.
