- Rogier Vandeweghe (1923-2020) for Amphora
Rogier Vandeweghe was a Belgian ceramist, glassmaker, calligrapher and painter. In 1947, Rogier founded the ceramic workshop Perignem (Latin for "through the fire") with his brother Laurent. He left Perignem in 1955 and, together with his wife Myranna Pyck (who had been working as a ceramic painter in Perignem since 1952), he set up a new workshop (ceramic and stained glass company) in Sint-Andries (Bruges), where he produced glazes of exceptional subtlety. In 1960, Rogier and Myranna named their company "Amphora". Rogier's creations received international recognition.
