- Svend Hammershøi (1873 - 1943)
Svend Hammershøi is best known for his work as a ceramist, but he is also a painter (like his brother Vilhelm Hammershøi). Svend Hammershøi worked in the workshop of the Kähler brothers (Næstved, Denmark), where he is undoubtedly the most important of all the artists associated with the Kähler Pottery. He was awarded a gold medal at the 1925 World Exhibition in Paris. On that occasion, his works entered the collection of the Musée de Sèvres.
