- Victor Noël (1916-2006)
Victor Noël is an important artist of the post-war period in Belgium. Born in Dour in 1916, he studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Mons from 1930 to 1939. Admirer of the Bauhaus, he became involved in geometric abstraction around 1954. He will be part of abstract art groups such as "Art abstrait" (Jean Milo, Jan Bursens, Jo Delahaut, ...), "Formes" (Jo Delahaut, M. Blicke, Pol Bury, Jean Rets, Kurt Lewy, ...), "D4", "Art Construit" (Pol Bury, Félix De Boeck, Jo Delahaut, Victor Noel, K. Lewy, J. Moeschal, J. Onegae, J. Peeters, Jean Rets, Victor Servanckx, Michel Seuphor, Guy Vandenbranden, S. Vanderauwera, P. Van Hoeydonck, F. Vonck,....).
